He studied in Holland, where he gained brilliantly the Getuigschrift Diploma in bass clarinet, and in Italy at the Conservatorio “Giorgio Federico Ghedini” of Cuneo where he obtained “cum laude” the clarinet master degree.

Authoritative interpreter of contemporary music and innovator of the bass clarinet’s technique, many compositions have been dedicated to him.

He gave the world premières of numerous works, including Sequenza IX for solo bass clarinet and “Come un’onda” by Ennio Morricone as well as Chemins II by Berio, Danzas Mestizas by Arturo Márquez, and “Rocco e rollo” by Arthur Gottschalk, all for bass clarinet and orchestra.

He recorded for Taukay, Stradivarius, DDT, Nuova Era, AOC Classic, Edizioni Leonardi, Concerto Music-Media, Amadeus, Brilliant Classics.
